12 STRANGE BUT TRUE FACTS ABOUT CHRISTMAS

1) Santa Claus is not father Christmas nor is he Jesus father.

2) Santa is not even mentioned in the Bible. But he is certainly a jolly good fellow bearing gifts.

3) The actual date of birth is still a point of contention, but let's leave it to historians and archeologist while the world celebrates.

4) Christmas is about the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ.
Whom the angels announced He will bring 'Joy to the world' but its conditional.

5) Wise man from the East brought three types of gifts not just 3 men.

6) They got lost, visited the palace not manger ending up in a house where the child Jesus is in which is rather late for a birthday celebration.

7) Christ was born to die for the sin of the world. Not exactly something you tell a child about life's purpose.

8) There is no Christmas tree in the Bible, but the cross, He was crucified on was called a 'tree' twice.

9) Christians celebrate His death  more than birth and weekly or monthly remember His death in a ritual call Breaking of Bread or Communion.

10) Muslims love Jesus too, and consider Him their greatest prophet.

11) I wonder if we stay true to  birthday celebrations for Jesus Christ and remove the gatecrasher Santa Claus and flashy accessories like Christmas trees would Christmas still be Christmas?

12) While the spirit of giving has been commercialised it was meant to show the greatest gift of all described in the Bible and profess by Christians.

'For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.'

Haze is Really Unhealthy. No Joke.

Haze is Really Unhealthy. No Joke.

By Isaac Lim           2nd Oct 2015

Is It Harmless or Deadly?

Chicken, dies by the millions and vegetable are turning yellow and wilting. News reports mention how it will affect us economically as consumers will need to pay more for dwindling supplies.
But what they have failed to mention (as my alarm bells are ringing), are we going the way of the chickens too? Not now, but much later? Canaries were used in mines centuries ago as an early warning to detect deadly poisonous gas. When miners noticed their canary lying dead in the cage, they run for their lives. I wonder if dead chickens are our canaries.
“Chickens are more sensitive to the haze than humans. They have respiratory problems and become weak. We have to give them vitamins. When they are weak, they are slow to grow and that is not good,” said Loo, who is also a farmer.
The health minister famously said haze is harmless unless there is prolonged exposure. So how long is long? Will he say the same about smoking?
On the ground people think it is harmless and walk around (even jog) unprotected. Our API rating is lower than our neighbor. Maybe Malaysians are tougher.
Some assume the only people with pre-existing health problem like heart and respiratory disease are vulnerable together with elderly and children. Only they need to worry about the haze.
So are we protecting our children apart from closing schools when it gets really bad? Children were seen playing outdoors and mothers taking their babies in strollers outdoors.

Haze is so pervasive it enters our homes. Unless we close our doors and windows and turn on the air conditioning 24/7 together with air purifier on - we will not escape it.
Not only grocery bills are going up, electricity and medical bills will go up.
Do we pray for rain? No, that is not the solution as the source is in Indonesia that's where it must rain heavily and not in Malaysia (unless there are fires in Malaysia). We need to put out the fire not the smoke. So our government should not throw away our money with cloud seeding and bomohs. I received a message warning us that cloud seeding will be in progress in the next few days and they are using ‘strong chemicals’ so get out of the rain as it causes skin irritation.
So will it go away by this month? Bad news the Indonesian president said it will take three years to solve it. I wonder where he got the number from? Another unwelcome news, it seems experts are predicting it's going to get a little better then worse  before it gets better hopefully in 6 weeks’ time. I wonder if only chickens will die or migrating egrets or storks will be dropping from the skies by then and will we be eating yellow coloured veggies.
Many are complaining of burning eyes, nose and throat. One client said 'I thought I was strong enough.'
Just because the haze particles are small does not mean it not dangerous on the other hand it is even more hazardous as it bypasses your respiratory defense system that normally filters out larger contaminants. It will lodge deep in the alveoli of our lungs and in 5, 10, 15 years’ time cause pulmonary disease even lung cancer.
If you are experiencing burning sensations it is due to the accumulation of foreign particles in the mucous membrane of eyes, nose and throat causing allergic inflammation and irritability.

Proactive Measures to Save our Health

Let’s treat this seriously and fight for our health proactively. Here are some suggestions.

#Drink more water and eat more fruits to help our body get rid of toxins.

#Use eye drops, nasal sea water spray and throat gargle daily to keep them moist and clean from haze particles.

#Use air purifier preferably with water membrane filters as it helps keeps the air moist and trap particles. Sleep with it turn on. Sharp and Panasonic have this system. Cost rm. 700 to rm. 800 and will be a cumulatively expensive investment as you need it for all the bedrooms and living area. Cheaper ones start at rm.300 some even have HAZE button! There are better and even more expensive ones with Hepa filters and cost up to rm.5000! I also use and sell salt lamps and it helps, but the haze is admittedly too concentrated for it to be effective.

#Use face mask outdoors. Disposable ones should not be reused too often as bacteria accumulates. Invest in clothe types as they are washable and can be reused next year when the haze returns. I recommend the Respokare anti-virus disposal face mask as its anti-viral/bacterial properties allow repeated use. It is almost as effective as N95 but cheaper (rm 5.90) and will not get squashed. It comes in a foil seal pack and have no expiry date which means you can keep it for years to come until you need it. The ziploc package means you can keep it in its original package until next use instead of leaving it everywhere. I used to stock up on face mask even N95 but they turn brown or smell musty after a year and had to be discarded.

#Finally group together for a class action suit of rich plantation companies responsible for the haze and sue them for all the money you spend to keep healthy in the haze and related future illness. Also for undue haze anxiety caused by emotional and mental anguish as we are forcible prevented from visiting our usual teh tarik gathering at the mamak stalls.

What does 'scientifically not proven to work' mean?

What does 'scientifically not proven to work' mean?
By Isaac Lim
Have you noticed the much overused term " Scientifically not proven to work"? This is the club that western based allopathic doctors loved to wield to bash complementary medicine and therapies. Do not be hoodwinked by the "scientific" sounding term that denounces all that is not in line with their 'only and one way to heal ' as pure science.
The term " scientifically not proven to work" does not mean:
1) That it is 'unscientific' rather it simply means the existing science used by them cannot detect or understand the methology and physics of energy science that complementary medicine uses to heal.
2) That it 'does not work', rather there are countless evidence and documentation of healing from clients that provides undeniable proof of healing. But because they could not understand how the healing came about they say " scientifically not proven to work".
3) That 'we should not use' complementary medicine to heal. This is because many western allopathic tools and practices are also "scientifically not proven to work"! Yet they still use it. An example is the use of 'defibrillators' to apply electroshock to the heart when a patient's heart suffers from cardiac arrest and stops beating. They cannot explain how it works or the science behind it, yet they still use it to save lives.
Complementary therapist and healers knows how it works. We have an electromagnetic anatomy that when disrupted cause dis-ease and disease. Correcting the flow of these electromagnetic circuits will bring about healing. That is all we need to understand to help people and just because people do not understand how it works does not mean it cannot be used or that it will not work.

The End?

THE END? or THE BEGINNING?

I attended a funeral yesterday. I was feeling miserable that I was not there to help her as she was in pain for three days before her death. My cousin was only 40 years old but have bravely and positively fought cancer for 6 years without accepting any western treatment (her own choice believing God will help her). During those years she never allowed her illness to dampen her exuberance for life. In her eulogy she was described as a person who wants to be remembered for her smile and love of life. I felt down because like a certain arachnid superhero his words rings true 'with power comes responsibility' and I felt I could at least help lessen her pain with qigong or EFT.
During the beautiful service her sister produced a letter written by the deceased. In it she introduced herself as one who had lived life to the fullest, visited all the countries she wanted to and she mentioned - that she knows her mother loves her. Few understood the significance of those words but my heart leap for joy as I knew then that I had indeed been able to help her find closure. You see in February I extended my help as a psychotherapist to her without charge. I though she would have issues about her cancer and death but instead her big issue was that she felt her parents had never loved her! That unresolved issue was bigger than cancer. I helped her see the possibilities that her parents like many Asian parents have difficulty expressing their love even to their own children but deep down in their hearts they have a special place for them. She mentioned how she hardly got to see her working parents. She comes home from school to an empty house, so instead she goes out with friends until late in the night. But you know what, her parents never question her where or who she had been with. Some teens may love that libertine attitude but she interpreted their lack of concern as 'they did not care or loved me'. My therapy approach was to help her feel that her parents loved her even if they are unable to express it. I led her to forgiveness if she felt they had failed as parents. Parenthood is never taught in schools. We learn on the job unfortunately sometimes with poor role models from our own parents or no parents.
At this point I would like to ask you, 'What would you do if tomorrow is the end of the world?'(nothing to do with the Mayan prophecy). Some would like to party for the last time. Others to find a companion, wife or someone to die with yet others would say something else. As for me I want to call up everyone whom I loved and tell them 'I love you' even if I had never told them so before. Perhaps we do not even need to wait for the end of the world. Perhaps we can do it now. Start with ourselves. Say 'I love myself'. If we have difficulty with that it is no wonder we are unable to express love verbally to others! It is time to ask yourself why and to resolve it with EFT.

Now back to the brightly lit funeral parlour. As I sat next to my younger brother I notice he was flexing his right arm and fingers. I noticed it was swollen and reddish. I asked why and he said it is very painful. Being in a crowded room and with a service proceeding I did not use my healing hands instead I used my 'yi' or intention and guided the energy in his body. I discharge the blocked energy in his arms and stabilize it. After 3 minutes of mind over matter work I asked him how is his arm now? He flexed his arm and open and closed his hands. He replied 'I can close my hand now'. I noticed it was not as swollen or inflamed  I did another 2 minutes of intentional healing and energized the arm so it will continue to heal for a few days.

I am a certified medical qigong practitioner. I took it up so I can understand what is this meridians we are tapping into with EFT. After understanding the principle of energy work experientially I discovered that you can manipulate it according to your needs. Energy healing is amazing and perhaps this is why people are sceptical. When you apply western psychology with energy work the results is a more efficient healing process that looks at emotions as energy and neutralize unprocessed negative emotions. This is what Energy Psychology is about. There are some new EFT off shot that had abandon the energy part and all I can say is it only diminishes the power of EFT. In the next Tapper's Gathering I would like to talk about energy healing and the electromagnetic nature of man and the latest scientific discoveries.
I would like to thank all my graduates and fellow EFT practitioners for all the support that had been given to make Energy Psychology Chapter successful. We certainly need your continued support in 2013.

Is Your Headache Caused By Painkillers?

For more headache. Take painkillers!

·

Yes, more than one million people in Britain may be suffering from constant, crippling headaches because they are taking too many painkillers! The pills people take to relieve headaches and migraines may be making things much worse, according to the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice).
The problem begins with taking the odd painkiller for tension headaches or migraines, which usually works. But some people take the pills more and more often, until they are on tablets for more than half the days in a month. Nice says that if this goes on for more than three months the medication ends up causing the problem it is intended to cure.
"Patients with frequent tension-type headaches or migraines can get themselves into a vicious cycle, where their headaches are getting increasingly worse, so they take more medication which makes their pain even worse," said Martin Underwood, a GP and professor of primary care research at Warwick medical school.
At risk are those who are taking paracetamol, aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, for their headaches, either alone or in combination, for 15 days a month or more. The risk is also carried by migraine sufferers taking triptans, opioids, ergots or combination analgesic medications for just 10 days a month or more.(The Guardian, Wednesday 19 September 2012Sarah Boseley, health editor)

All this pill popping culture that makes us consume pills like its peanuts are only causing us more pain.
We think that there is a pill for every ill but little do we realise that there is an ill for every pill. What else can we do when we are frequently visited by crippling headaches and migraines? Popping pills is so easy. Hold on. What if there is an alternative that will remove headaches and even migraine within 15minutes? What if it will cost you nothing? What if you can use it any time and anywhere without worrying about where the nearest drug store is? Is there such a pill? No it's not a pill, its a technique that is so easy to use that you will ask 'Why was I not inform earlier!'

I was visiting my mother's house one day and a relative was resting in her bed. My mother whispered to me ,'She's unwell with a bad migraine.' I told my relative that I can help her with a new relaxation technique.. It seems she had been on triptan for the past three days and all it does was dull her pain but it is still there and comes back after her painkiller stop working. I proceeded to use this technique that taps into the acupoints and in 10 minutes the migraine was gone! She was in disbelieve and said maybe it's the painkiller I took in the morning. I reminded her that she was on it for three days and it did not help much. It is alright if they react in disbelieve after all nothing in their mind says simple tapping can remove huge migraine in 10 minutes. It also proves it will work even if you do not believe it.

This tapping procedure is call EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques. It is the safest painkiller you can find in the world. Most headaches and migraine are stress related and using this technique seems to cut off the stress hormones and pain receptors. We do not know how it actually works but neither did we know how painkillers works before we gulp it down. The important point is - does it work and is it safe. Both answers are a big 'Yes'.

Mary was an elderly lady in her 70's. She had chronic backache and was in constant pain. She was popping painkillers by the handfuls until her doctor told her that she cannot continue to do this as it will cause more health issues like ulcers. She called me and enrolled in my EFT workshop after reading in my website www.eftwonder.com that it is a  pain management technique without drugs. She had an unusual request. She wanted an easy chair to lie on as her backache will not allow her to sit up for long.
One month after the workshop she came to thank us beaming from cheek to cheek. She was alive and so different from the first time I met her. She said she has halved her painkillers and now leads a more active life. She is enthusiastically telling everyone about EFT.

EFT is not a miracle technique even though the results can occasionally seems like it. If there is any miracle it is that ordinary people can now be empowered to have more control over their health and lives. EFT does more than manage physical pain but also emotional pain. It brings stress under control in minutes and years of emotional pain and trauma just melts away. EFT erases mental and emotional blocks to achieving your ambition and dreams. Perhaps it is time to take control of your life and learn how.

EFT Level 1 workshop will be conducted on the 20th October and EFT Level 2 on 3rd and 4th November 2012. Visit the link and register for the early bird special. Gifts valued at more than rm.500 are waiting for you.

Horror Stories- Bald spots, Grey Hairs, Acne and Ugly Nails.

Horror Stories- Bald spots, Grey Hairs, Acne and Ugly Nails.

Bald Spots
Maureen was 32 year old sales executive. Her job meant long hours and meeting clients all over the world. She not only had to be meticulous in her job but also in her appearance. One morning while grooming herself in front of  a hotel room mirror she was horrified to notice that she had a bald spot on top of her head. It was not just less hair but an ugly bald spot where no hair grew.
She immediately made an appointment with a dermatologist. In the questionnaires to be filled there were questions about her stress levels. Dermatologists know that stress can cause hair to fall out. Many people think it is age related or some kind of skin infections and will visit a doctor for medication. Others will try different on-the-shelves hair tonic, restorer and other claims of hair growth ointment or shampoo. But few think it is stress related and go to the wrong practitioners. Stress increases cortisol production which increase oil secretions in the skin Men and women can develop alopecia -- bald spots of hair in the beard or scalp -- when they're under stress.
Nervous habits like twirling your hair can also pull hairs out, causing bald spots resulting in bald spots. If stress is the cause perhaps victims should consider visiting psychotherapist to help them reduce their stress levels or learn self help techniques like EFT- Emotional Freedom Techniques to reduce and remove their stress levels.

Grey Hairs
If you have premature grey hair you will receive comments like 'You worry too much!'  Now it is proven to be true as stress can cause this too. Bald spots can also grow back with grey hairs. "And then when the hair grows back, sometimes it grows in as gray hairs," Dr. Mayoral says. So it's true that stress does cause gray hairs!

Acne
Notice how your on your big day when you should be looking your best you instead have an acne outbreak. This is a nightmare for a bride. Stress induce oil production and that is a recipe for acne.

Deform Nails
Notice how children tend to deal with nervous nail biting. Adults however play with their nails, "When they're not thinking about it, they are picking at their nail and they actually damage the growth plate of the nail and the nail grows in with a ridge in the middle of it," Dr. Mayoral says.

Stress induce cortisol production which affects how we look. Beauty in this case is really skin deep. Stress is actually an acceptable word for this acronym I have been using in my talks. Stress and Trauma Results in Emotional Stuck States. EFT helps to remove these stuck states very quickly. If you want to look beautiful or handsome learn to control your stress levels.

Stuttering Cured in 45 Minutes and other Speech Defects.

Have you read or seen the movie 'The King's Speech' a true story? What would the future king do if he is unable to address his subjects in public. when he stutters with difficulty with embarrassingly long pauses just to get the words out. How does he lead a nation when they cannot understand him?

King George turns to a diverse number of 'therapist' that forced him to fill his mouth with cold marbles while attempting to read and even tried  smoking to calm his throat. If he had not given up he might have choked to death or even die of lung cancer. In the end he found a therapist who was able to help him with daily sessions involving reading, jaw and vocal cord exercises, rolling on floor and what not. It was tedious and real hard work that was time consuming and require sheer dedication. One can say that the king was willing to sacrifice for the sake of the nation. The good news was he did recover eventually after all that.

EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques can achieve the same result in 45 minutes! One of my Level 1 graduates had the opportunity to treat a person with stuttering issue. Read his email testimony:

'I would said that the whole treatment was quite fast. From interviewing to end about 45 mins. total. What I did was find out what was the cause of the stuttering. Fortunately, he was able to tell me that since young when he was able to speak, his mother used to slap him whenever he talks. I then go through the BR with him and get him to do it with sincerity. He is a qigong practitioner as well and have confidence in me as I have been teaching him a couple of qigong form. We meet up a week later at our regular qigong session and the stuttering is down to almost zero, so much so that you would not know he is a stutterer. I like EFT for its simplicity and quick result, so there is not much to write. Maybe you could ask me some questions that I might have miss out. No, I have not seen the King's Speech yet. I did not know it is about the Kings' stuttering.'

Not only is EFT able to help speech defects like stuttering but also dyslexia. I have also treated some with a common speech issue 'fear of public speaking' very effectively with just 1-3 sessions depending on how many related aspects are involved.

Mental Health Test for our children? My Letter to the Star Editor

Kudos on mental health test, but...
Mental Health Test for our children? My Letter to the Star Editor
I would like to give the thumbs up to the health and education ministry initiative to launch the pilot project in four secondary schools to address mental health issues. But I would like to question the use of terms like 'mental health test' as it is noted to be a sensitive issue. I fear that such terms would be largely misunderstood by the general population especially students, parents and even teachers. I can imagine students who fail the 'mental health test' would be mock by fellow student as 'mental' as the term is used loosely in normal English language to denote in derogatory terms of people with abnormal behaviour. Parents will not want their children to be labelled with such a stigma and teachers may need to be taught how to help rather than isolate such 'emotionally challenged people'. Yes, that would be a more appropriate term to apply. Instead of 'mental health test' why not 'emotional health test' after all there is a blurred distinction that diagnose one as suffering from acute emotional stress and another from mental diseases. We will be able to win over the general public to this pilot project if we promote and 'reframe' it in a less threatening way. I have no doubt 'mental health evaluation' is medically correct term but is it socially and politically correct? Even the DSM used to diagnose mental disorder takes pain to be correct, "A common misconception is that a classification of mental disorders classifies people, when actually what are being classified are disorders that people have. For this reason, the text of DSM-IV (as did the text of DSM-III-R) avoids the use of such expressions as "a schizophrenic" or "an alcoholic" and instead uses the more accurate, but admittedly more cumbersome, "an individual with Schizophrenia" or "an individual with Alcohol Dependence."
Another misconception to correct is that the actual issue is not the environment but the inability of the general population to deal with negative emotions. As Dr Abdul Kadir said 'the project was a move in the right direction because puberty period could be challenging for secondary school students who might face emotional issuesrelated to studies, peer and parental pressures and unsafe neighbourhoods. '  All of us face these stressful environmental but not all of us suffer from emotionally disorder as a consequence of these. This is because many are not able to deal with and process negative emotions properly. Aside from arguments of predisposition and genetics let us consider emotional management. There is a need to teach students how to deal with their emotions. It is strange that we all process hundreds of emotions daily yet there is no course or subject that helps us do what is a daily necessity. Does it come naturally to everyone? Statistic show otherwise, Malaysian Psychiatric Association article on anxiety reports, "Anxiety disorder is very common. A rough estimate is that all the anxiety disorders together may affect up to 25% to 30% of the population".  If we can process our emotions properly it would not deteriorate to acute emotional stress and later to disorders like anxiety disorders, panic attacks, depression and even mental illness. In other words why don't we teach our kids to deal with their emotions at an early age? The results can be emotionally balance children who graduate to become emotionally balanced adults. If we have moral education why not have 'emotional intelligence' as part of it. Today we have cognitive therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy and other sub-modalities in the psychotherapy world like NLP and EFT amongst others that can be integrated and simplified for secondary students. I am sure we will be churning out modal students of great humanistic potentials with this subject of 'emotional intelligence'!

Happy? New Year 2011. When someone enthusiastically greets you  with this annually recycled greeting do you know what it really means? Did he mean 'happy' because we are having yet another excuse to party till morning? Does he mean prophetically you are going to have a 'happy' 2011? Does he mean 2010 for the world was such a horrible year and a new year will be like 'good riddance' to 2010?  Isn't it strange how we greet each other without really understanding what it means. Let's greet each other meaningfully. Here is my greeting to you.

MARRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS?

Marry, Merry Christmas is here again.  No it is not a spelling mistake. I actually got married on Christmas day. Why choose Christmas day? Well... I thought that way I only need to buy one gift for two occasion. Wait before you call me a cheap skate I was just joking. Really, I am very generous for this Christmas I bought myself an Ipad. Yes, a 64G wifi Ipad. It is my first apple and now I find it does not sync well with my windows pc. I am getting sleepless nights.
So what am I getting for my wife? I offered her a Ford Escape but since she feels we cannot afford it so I am getting her a ....surprise! Unless a kind soul out there wants to make my generous gift a reality. After all it is not just another wedding anniversary. It is our 'Twentieth anniversary' I can't believe we were married for 20 years!! I mean I am still madly in love with her. Who says marriage grows stale with time. Our love grew in in depth and maturity like cheese mmmm... no make that wine.
Marriage is never without storms. Make sure your marital ship has these crew members name commitment, compassion, compromise and connection on board. The 4 C's of marital success. If you can't find that in a partner don't marry him/her. If you think you can change the partner to 'improve' him/her after you get married, you are in for a shock so will your partner. It is in the first 3-5 years that is make and break as both adjust to each others peculiarities, habits, idiosyncrasies, expectations and phobias. Wait a minute, you mean we did not see that until we got married? Do you remember the saying 'Love is blind"? It's true.
Also there is a special tool that can save trouble marriage and help make the first 3-5 years so much easier for both partners it's call EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques. Marriage is mainly an emotional bond. Not only love but also many negative emotions like anger, jealousy, low self esteem, bitterness and many more. Learning to handle your emotions and understanding why you get angry at each other over the slightest issue will take away the hidden rocks that can shipwreck your marriage.
As a therapist I had the opportunities to tap away all these negative emotions from couples who see me. They even tell me 'You are our last hope'! Their marriage grew stronger after that. Intimacy improves and is restored. Sexual and financial issues are solved. I and my wife also tap together on our issues. If this is the secret to successful marriage you can add one more crew member in you marital ship - EFT!

To all my friends and EFT graduates,

Marry and Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating this seasons happiness and joy.

MEMORY ERASING DRUG? FORGET IT !

MEMORY ERASING PILLS

Do you want to forget or remove any unpleasant memory? Medical science may have found a drug for that. There is of course no guarantee that other parts of your memory might be erased as well like the time you fell in love with your wife or soul mate. But why do we need to remove or erase these 'negative' memories when there is a simple method of erasing and removing the emotional trauma of that memory. Imagine being able to recall the traumatic memory without feeling angry, fearful, panicky and all the associated negative emotions. EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques can do just that. Why erase your memory when you can erase the negative emotions? It is essential that these memories be retain so we do not repeat the same mistakes. If you fell into the river and almost drown resulting in a phobia of water would you remove the phobia or the memory of falling into the river? Certainly the phobia not the memory which could in future help us to be more careful. A traumatized raped victim need to be able to testify in court. If to remove the trauma we need to remove the memory how is she going to testify? EFT will remove the trauma and she can still recount the incident without the trauma. Natural News gave a fantastic report in their following article.

"(NaturalNews) Drug researchers are working on a mind-altering chemical that could erase your memories. It's all being pursued under the umbrella of "mental health" with claims that this could help victims of emotional trauma. The idea that you can "heal" a patient by chemically lobotomizing them is, of course, entirely consistent with the core mythology of modern medicine: If something's wrong, you should poison it, burn it, irradiate it or cut it out... and then pronounce the patient "healed!"

In the case of memory-erasing drugs, scientists are reportedly working on a drug that would remove certain proteins from the brain's "fear center." This is based on the ludicrous idea, by the way, that memories are recorded solely by physical proteins in the brain -- an idea that's obviously based on an entirely outmoded mechanistic model of the human mind and brain.
Then again, modern medical science seems to be hopelessly stuck in the Dark Ages, believing that there must be a chemical cure for everything. Hence the ongoing waste of billions of dollars searching for a cancer cure as if it were some sort of acquired infection.
"Erasing a memory and then everything bad built on that is an amazing idea, and I can see all sorts of potential," said Kate Farinholt, executive director of the mental health support and information group NAMI Maryland, in a Baltimore Sun story (http://www.baltimoresun.com/health/...). But even she can see this approach could be fraught with danger: "Completely deleting a memory, assuming it's one memory, is a little scary. How do you remove a memory without removing a whole part of someone's life, and is it best to do that, considering that people grow and learn from their experiences?"  ...........................

WARNING - MEDITATION CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH!

WARNING - Meditation can be hazardous to your health if you have repressed and unresolved emotional issues. While thousands have benefited and found peace from meditation there are some who have abreactions that are caused by the sudden released of raw negative emotions that had been suppressed. The release is so overwhelming and traumatic that it can take days or even years to recover from it.

Recently in a single week of psychotherapy I had three clients telling me of their traumatic emotional experiences that was triggered by meditation. One did it unsupervised by following a book, the other with yoga and another went to a monastery in Nepal. The first two suffered anxiety attacks while the latter suffered severe abreactions that lasted two years and nearly killed her with bulimia. There is a need to warn people of the consequence of unsupervised and unsuitable subjects for meditation. If you intend to practice meditation it is advisable to learn techniques to clear suppressed negative emotions. EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques is one of the most easily taught and applied techniques that quickly and gently process negative emotions. I had used it to clear and help the above clients. It is fast as negative emotions are processed and removed in minutes. An hour with them involves removing several negative emotions and one or two issues. Many are unaware that repressed emotions can also lead to physical health issues. Everyone need to address this important emotional health issue. Many fail to do so because they think they have no issues or they can bear it. Why bear it and carry the emotional baggage around for the rest of your life when you can easily get rid of it? One day EFT workshops (http://www.eftwonder.com/) can equip you with a powerful tool that you can use for a life time of health.

SNATCH VICTIMS - ARE YOU ONE TOO?

Snatched Victims - Are you one too?

Below is my facebook forum from IZ EFT group on helping snatch thief victims using EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques (http://www.eftwonder.com/).

She had been traumatised.

How do you help someone like her?

What are the core issues and emotional traumas to address?

What EFT method would you use?

What type of pain is she experiencing and will EFT help?

See Story Link: http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=%2F2010%2F10%2F8%2Fnation%2F7186936&sec=nation

Lets hear from all of you and your own experience as a victim or practitioner. She lost much more than her handbag and rm.30. She lost her dignity, self-esteem, security, sleep and now filled with fear, guilt, anxiety, insomnia, pain, violated... I want to help all victims and teach them how to 'snatch back' what they lost with EFT.
Give your answers and diagnosis and I will show you how to help others like her.
The next EFT gathering will introduce this healing program mainly for the ladies call "Snatch It Back!'.
If you have heard of victims of snatch thieves or robberies you can invite them at our watering hole -Papa Rich restaurant.
Let us work together on this project for all the victims. Give me your feedback.

Hi all ,
Thank you Isaac for presenting us with these challenges.

I would start with asking her current level of anxiety, and tap till it goes down to zero.
I would also do a movie technique with her to get her to recall the incident and tap along.
The thought of petrol station, car, policeman, police station may trigger anxiety and that will be something to tap on too.
Then I may get her to talk a bit and see if I can pick up any beliefs, truths or table tops that she might have.
These writings on the walls may be the reason she is attracting misfortunes.
If she does have, I will ask her to recall any incidents that support the beliefs and tap on those events.

Hopefully we can get as many events for her to eliminate and remove the table top.

Shaliza

Isaac Lim -Hi Shaliza,

Thank you for your response to my questions on this snatch case. Your diagnosis of this case and approach to helping her are very good and correct. I am happy with your assessment of her case as it shows you are a capable EFT practitioner and therapist.

I would like to draw your attention to 2 other emotional aspect that may need to be processed.

a) She mention how she though she was going to die and she found strenght to break free when she thought of her children who need her. This new belief form out of trauma may change her behaviour towards her children to being over protective. She may have the fear of her children losing her and may now be reluctant to leave them. Check on this.

b) She mention pain during the night that cause her to cry and lose sleep. We need to address this issue. Her physical pain is likely 70% emotional and addressing this with movie technique as you mention will reduce it and help her sleep. I suspect she is stuck in the fight state and that was the reason she could not stop talking which made the police officer to lose patience with her. She is likely hypervigilant and that can cause insomnia. Her internal alarm cannot stop ringing. This again will affect her behaviour later on unless it is removed.
I had a recent client with a knife wound that is 10 years old and the scar is still painful especially on rainy days. After only one session I saw her the following week and asked her about it. She was surprised that there was no more pain . Her scar now has sensation when touch and the skin more relax as it now has wrinkles when before it was shiny and tight! This snatch thief victim will find her wound healing faster after EFT.
I am collating your response to form a 'Snatch it Back' workshop to help victims of snatch thieves and robbery. It is more of a community project. If any NGO woman's groups are interested to organise one I would be happy to support them.

One Mans' Meat is another Mans' Poison.

One man's meat is another man's poison is an idiom that rings literally true for me. I was in excruciating pain and had to limp in agony for days. My left foot was swollen and inflame and the pain at my achilles tendon was like an arrow had pierced through it! Am I being too melodramatic in my description of the dreaded four lettered word? GOUT! Yes, gout is my archilles heel, my weakness that had laid low (no pun intended) many of my ancestors from my father's side. How unfortunate that blood tests had also shown that my dear teenage children had also inherited it, as they too had high uric acid. 'From whence did thou posses it? From the sins of my fathers.' No that did not come from the Bible nor the great Victorian bard with a 'parkinsonian' name Shakespeare. Am I being dramatic again? Sorry with a smile. It's easier to laugh in the face of suffering than to cry in the arse of adversity. Now, that was original and you can quote me on that. Inspiration comes from perspiration but my comes from gout. No, I am not high from over medication in fact I refused to take the steroids the doctor gave me. It will cause increase appetite and indigestion. Now that sounds evil. It makes you eat like a hog and gives you indigestion in return. Anti-inflammatory medications also helps tremendously but after one week with it your ulcerated stomach lining may need a new one. I chose a more friendly one call 'Mobid'. My daughter asked why did they call it that and I enlighten her that it is spelt 'Mobic'.

I know a way to reduce the recovery period from 7 -10 days to 3-4 days after all I am a pain management therapist. Using diaphragmatic breathing technique with raised legs as you lie down it increases blood, oxygen and chi flow to reduce the uric acid crystals and inflammation in your joints and tissues. I also used EFT to soothe my frustration and other emotional blocks to healing. It also soothes the burning pain so I can reduce the painkiller dosage to save my stomach lining.

What about food? Water, lots of it will help flush out uric acid and water melon is a juicy natural cure for gout as with cherries. They are rich in vitamin C and antioxidant which helps reduce inflammation. What about supplements? While fish oil that has been distilled is helpful a new product called stemtech was amazing. I tried it and the next day the swelling was 50% down after 3 days it is 90% healed.

I had to also watch my diet to make sure it had less purine which turns into uric acid. The kidneys normally excretes it but some of us tend to go into overproduction and the overworked kidneys cannot handle it.. There goes my satay, durian, cauliflowers, duck, sardines, dahl, all red meat and everything that taste good. If it taste good it's probably not good. No I am kidding but it does seem that way. Peanuts is bad, very bad and it's not even a real nut. Do you know it is the only nut that comes from the ground while all other nuts grows from trees? In Malaysia the more well known ones are grown on cemetery plots. They wash it and then dry it on tomb stones. That's what I was told so don't look at me like my nose had suddenly elongated. Peanut is normally the culprit that gets me but this time the cause was from ..... my wife. You see she bought something that gave me nostalgia, for as a kid I used to scoop a spoon of it and slowly lick it like it's a lollipop. That black, creamy, salty mamite was simply delicious and healthy. I remembered reading about the Japanese invasion and the death railway being built by malnourished British POWs. One of them swelled up with beri-beri. They had very little medication available so the medical officer gave him a bottle of mamite and it healed him. So I had a very high regard for the black goo and we had mamite soup threes times that week and presto now my left foot looks like it has beri-beri!

OK I have to put my brakes on or my blog will turn into a novel. When you are 'hot' you just want to continue writing. For more info on gout here is the medical link and my therapy links.

Panic Attacks and Punish Me Syndrome.

Statistically 10% of the population suffers from panic attacks and another 30% from anxiety disorder. This is not only true of Malaysians but also of the world. Surprised? Why should we be? Is this not a bad and scary world that we are living in? At anytime an earthquake could open up the earth under our feet and swollen us up or a mad guy may decided that nuclear war is tactically sound or a suicidal zealot may decide to go to heaven by sending everyone else to hell? All that can easily be push back into the dark recesses of our mind (and that's where it will always be, a niggling uneasiness) but for the sufferers of PA and AD it is illogically very real.
I normally need 2-6 sessions to help people with PA and AD with EFT. This is much faster than conventional talk or cognitive therapy. However last week a client who had been waking up with panic attacks for two years told me in the following session that the episodes are gone! Wow! that was fast. Sometimes EFT even surprise me with its results.
I had another client who as a child was arbitrary punished without excuse or his defence being allowed. He soon surrendered to the punishment meted out as something expected and not to be questioned even if he was not in the wrong. Like Pavlov's dogs he soon expects some form of punishment even as an adult and if none is forthcoming he will unconsciously punish himself emotionally or with psychosomatic pain. No amount of painkillers or physiotherapy could help him. I had to work on forgiveness and healing at cellular level to help him overcome it.
Do we all need EFT to help us in life. A resounding YES! As far as I am concern we are emotional beings that have forgotten how to process our emotions and had instead learn to ignore and repressed it. It will come back to haunt us in ways we least expect and affects our quality of life and happiness.

HYPNOSIS WITH DR.GEORGE

I recently attended a hypnosis workshop by Dr.George Bien a legend in the world of hypnosis. As I shook his hand at the end of the workshop I said to him "I came to see a living legend in action and I got an eyeful. Thank you." He is America's top hypnotist yet he was approachable. I actually attended for the certification and to see how he conducts training so I can model some of his presentation techniques. I have after all attended hypnosis workshops before but I still find my EFT techniques http://www.eftwonder.com/ so quick and easy to use I never really got to using hypnosis as an essential tool.
I was pleasantly surprised that a 2 page 30 minute presentation was given on EFT to invoke interest and awareness about this amazing healing tool. The highlight was a beautiful (inside and outside) visiting hypnotherapist who gave her testimony on how she broke her neck and died, revived but declared a quadriplegic with no hope of ever walking again. She was able to save her life by using self hypnosis to stiffen her neck and put herself in a happy mood in the months of being bedridden. She also used visual EFT to remove the trauma in her body and she began to recover her feelings to her limps and body. The nurses and doctors were amazed by her recovery as they have declared her paralysis permanent. Wow what a testimony!
During the workshop I also had the opportunity to help two ladies. The first was a medical intern who had a bad throat and was coughing beside me. I offered to help her with qigong emphasising that I need not touch her. I removed the congested energy in her throat and energized it. She said she could feel the heat from my hands. After 10 minutes I asked her how her throat feels and she replied with a surprised facial expression, 'It feels much better'. I check on her on the last day and she is almost recovered without needing any further treatment. The second was an elder doctor and as she sat beside me I could feel her emotional congestion in her chest and offered to help with EFT. It took me 20 minutes to clear the emotional congestion in her chest and jaws. She looked so much more radiant after that as compared with the days she was looking so worried and subdued. The point is the young and old, the clients and the therapist are all open to dis-ease and disease. Come on, even doctors fall ill. Now don't give me that surprised look and please close your gapping mouth.
In fact we are more exposed to sickness and bad energies. I find people even family members commenting callously you are a therapist and you can't even cure your son from autism? Why don't you heal yourself? My answer is this, 'We are not god!"

'Starving Yogi' Astounds Indian Scientists

'Starving yogi' astounds Indian scientists

News report by AFP on an 83-year-old Indian holy man who says he has spent 70 years without food or water has astounded a team of military doctors. They conducted a 2 week intensive medical observation on him. Prahlad Jani spent a fortnight in a hospital in the western India state of Gujarat under constant surveillance from a team of 30 medics equipped with cameras and closed circuit television. During the period, he neither ate nor drank and did not go to the toilet.

Did they find an answer to his survival skills? No.
"We still do not know how he survives," neurologist Sudhir Shah told reporters after the end of the experiment. "It is still a mystery what kind of phenomenon this is."
Did they offer an explanation? Yes.
"If Jani does not derive energy from food and water, he must be doing that from energy sources around him, sunlight being one," said Shah.
"As medical practitioners we cannot shut our eyes to possibilities, to a source of energy other than calories."

Wow! That is commendable. To admit that the only possible conclusion is another source of energy. This came from the mouth of a neurologist who is a scientist a medical officer! Surely he will be burn at the stake for such blasphemous comments by the medical fraternity. But you say his conclusion was from scientific, medical observation. So what, anything that goes against the sacred medical teachings of medical science need to be debunk regardless of evidence. Maybe as one Dr.Van Rooyen sarcastically implied, "You can hold a lot of water in those yogi beards. A sneaky yogi for certain," he said. "He MUST take in water." You mean 30 medics with hi-tech CCTV and equipment could not detect a cheat or are they co-conspirators that are willing to lose their medical license for a joke and they missed April the 1st. Another sceptic said, 'He might be hiding a burger under his beard!" Now that would make a good McDonald advertisement. Hello, advert boys -WAKE UP.
So what other energy sources around him can we think of? 'Sunlight' the doctor suggested. No, he did not mean photosynthesis or his skin colour will match the incredible hulk.
The answer is :
We are basically energy beings made up of atoms and vibrating electrons and neutrons. We have a body that is described as bio-electomagnetic. Our brains fire electrical impulses through neurotransmitters that links to networks of electrical pathways. There exist a close circuit energy system 'meridians' in our body that helps our body to function at optimal health. Disturbance of these circuits will disrupt our health system. Energy healers using reiki, qigong, pranic healing, acupuncture and many other new therapies like energy psychology (www.eftwonder.com) have found a faster non invasive form of healing by accessing these meridians. As energy beings we are able to absorb electromagnetic energy around us from the earth's energy field or space which bombards earth with enormous quantities of energy like the sun. There will come a time when medical science will come to 'discover' it and maybe taking credit for it. They may probably attach some other medically bombastic name to disguised it. They are so shy and it takes time to be associated with energy healing. Give them space.

TRIGGER HAPPY

TRIGGER HAPPY?

My mum came to me with her right index finger unable to close and extend smoothly. It was like a stiff gear shift getting stuck at third or fouth gear. It was funny looking as she could close all her fingers but when she open her fingers the index finger refused to cooperate while the rest extended fully. Sometimes it will flex midway and just gets stuck. This medical condition is call 'trigger finger 'or 'stenosing tenosynovitis ' whiich I will not attempt to pronounce in case I get 'trigger tonque'.

Trigger finger is caused by local swelling from inflammation or scarring around the tendons that normally pull the affected digit inward toward the palm (flexion). Pain can occur at the base of the finger of palm itself. A majority of patients with rheumatoid arthritis have inflammation around the tendons of the palm of the hand that could develop into trigger finger.

I used medical qigong to loosen the tendons by reducing the inflamation from the tip of the affected finger to the base of the palm. After 20 minutes the pain was gone and the finger movement was loosen but there was still occasional stuck movement. The next session the finger could extend without getting stuck but some stiffness came back. After the third session there was no longer stiffness and she could repeatedly close and extend her fingers without problem. The treatment was basically to reduce the swelling so that it no longer 'grips' the finger from extending. Qigong is very impressive when applied for swelling. I had a case when this women came with her left leg swollen all the way to her thigh. After 30 minutes  she could  squat and stand up and her swelling had reduced by 30%.  She soon recovered after 2 sessions but her children did not believe such results were possible even with their mother's testimony. Well I guess seeing is believing (her children did not see her original condition).

My retirement home doctor one day came with his hand partly bandaged. He had a minor surgery for trigger finger. He said  he normally treats his patients with drugs and cortisal injection around the tendons (ouch!) but it did not work for him. When a trigger finger persists after two injections and is not responsive, surgical procedures to ultimately remove the inflamed or scarred tissue are considered. Now you may have a painless option before going for  injections or even surgery - medical qigong! Trigger Happy!
